Applying for assistance from Biodiversity Protection Inc

flav_2We at Biodiversity Protection take our responsibility towards the environment seriously and are committed to promoting local environment groups and projects. We have a number of ways of achieving this.

  1. Establishment Advice

  2. Website Hosting

  3. Administrative Assistance

  4. Funding Advice

  5. One Off Grants

  6. Annual Grants

Establishment Advice

Most government and private funding organisations will require that your organisation has been incorporated and has Income Tax Exemption before being able to assist you.
For many, this can be a daunting process and the recent upgrading of the Associations Act hasn’t helped matters.
Biodiversity Protection can provide free guidance on how to incorporate your Association and get Income Tax Exemption.

Website Hosting

Setting up and hosting a website can be a very expensive and time-consuming exercise and is usually beyond the reach of small groups, most of whom are already cash-strapped.
However having a website is important in today’s environment as a contact point and an information source for people who are interested in your cause, as well as increasing your public profile. We can set up and host a small, easy to maintain, domain for you at absolutely no cost to your group.

Administrative Assistance

All the groups we deal with are volunteer-based. From experience developing and using an administrative system that works for your group and keeps your book-keeper happy can seem like an impossibility. We can ‘lend’ our experienced administrator to your organisation to help set up and implement a system which works for you and which is easy for your staff and volunteers to use. We will work with you to find solutions that are practical and we will do this free of charge.

Funding Advice

There are significant opportunities for environmental organisations to procure significant funding from public and private bodies.
However the paperwork involved and the requirements to obtain this funding can be daunting for most people.
Biodiversity Protection can assist you in seeking out and applying for grants. We’ll inform you about who you can to apply to and help you maximise your results. Again, free of charge.

One Off Grants

We know that most environmental groups have a hard time finding funding for the vital equipment they need to achieve their desired results, particularly when they are just starting out.
We can assist your group by providing a one-off grant. We will generally only fund equipment that is directly being used for saving native flora and/or fauna or ecosystems.
As such, we won’t fund wages, services, vehicles, office equipment, etc. We will generally retain ownership of any equipment we fund and it will be loaned to your organisation on a ‘permanent’ basis.

Annual Grants

One of the biggest challenges of running a volunteer-based group is making ends meet. Running costs are hard to find funding for. Biodiversity Protection can provide small annual grants for consumables that are directly related to saving native flora and/or fauna such as animal food or vet bills.
